Understanding cat body language is essential to a good communication line with your cat. You need good communication with your cat so you can adjust certain behavior or teach a new behavior pattern to your pet cat.

You need to know that just like yourself and I, cats have all sorts of moods. They can have good days a bad days, and feel blue sometimes... Getting to know your cats body language can help you understand what your cat needs to be happy or happIER.

Cat body language starts at the ears, and go down all the way to the tip of their tails. In extreme situations of stress, the cats fur expands kind of like goose bumps we experience on our skin.

It is important to give attention to your cats body language to understand certain behaviors. You don't always get a cat while it's a kitty. Sometimes a cat comes to you from a bad place and will suffer from anxiety resulting in aggresive behavior.

A cat is very attentive and will start figuring your body language from the minute it steps inside your home. Your cat expects you to (at least try) understand him/her, and will show you more respect if it feels your paying attention to his/her needs.

Many people confuse cat language with dog body language. For example, a dog ratteling his tail means he's happy but a cat doing the same thing means he's about to snap.
